An early view of the site taken in 1997

Plots here had been rotovated by us for new tenants. |
Our first project as a reformed committee in 1997 was obtaining and constructing a garage to use as an office. It was completed in just four weeks. |
We now needed a meeting room. This was built by ourselves in 1998. We soon outgrew this though and eventually it was to become a compost store in 2001. We also have a shop selling a wide variety of garden requisites for our plot holders and members. |
August 1998 This was our first show in over 12 years. There were some great entries and as you can see the room was nearly finished. |
This is the childrens part of the show. A miniture garden in a seed tray. All the children did very well this year and the judges were very impressed. |
Another big project was creating a plot suitable for a person with limited mobility. We designed it to be suitable for a wheelchair user. Quite a lot of hard work went into constructing this. It has been revamped and is now a huge success
We were at risk of losing 3 plots due to a natural spring flooding the plots. Our only solution was to lay drainage pipe across the whole width of the site. |
This was in February and March 2001. The spring couldn't have been further from the brook. |
July saw our new meeting room erected. A 16' x 16' double garage lined out and decorated by ourselves. |
Another well turned out show August 2006. Shown here is a selection of soft fruit. After the show, produce that is nor collected is sold off. The proceeds of course goes to the Edward's Trust. |

We try to encourage everone to have a go- it's the taking part that matters. |
By 2003 and ever expanding we'd grown out of our office and it had to go to make way for a new one. As it had to fit into an exact space we had no choice but to build the new building ourselves. Terry and Dave worked very hard on this. A plotholder demolished the old building, cleared more space at the rear and prepared the base. |

Sunday 28th September 2003. Decorated out and carpet laid it's surprising how many cups of tea we've sold now everything is back to normal. |
If you want any tips on pumpkins, Spencer is the man to ask. |

Our oldest plotholder Len, at a young 94 years. He has only recently constructed this great tool locker himself with a fold up potting bench. Even his nest box on his plot was home to a family of blue tits. |
Our latest project - providing a toilet facility with wheelchair access. This was started in August 2004 and was finished by the end of September. It was an essential project to undertake particulary with the raised bed plot on site. |

Allotment gardening is not all about hard work, it's about a good cup of tea and a comfortable seat. Don and Dennis take a rest. |
At least when it snows everyone's plot looks the same. |
